Great to See You

I was home today for lunch.  CJ did well!  And Zed recognised me much faster and was allowed inside to see me.  This made me very happy  The whole day was good, so good I didn't want to leave.  I can hardly wait until the home modifications are done, which will take another 6 months.  The Babe

Authentic 50's Rock 'n' Roll

While in Melbourne last weekend, found this CD.  Had the class hoppin' and spinnin' last night for sure! A total blast of what some would say -  "real" rock and roll.  Couldn't agree more...CJ

Back Seat Driver

Not my preferred location, my new car will have me in the front as passenger next to CJ.  But it was good to get out today and have a spin and test drive.  The Babe.

Blooming in the Garden

I planted these in the back garden a few years ago and now they are at the best due to the good rains.  Hope I'm going to be just as good too.  The Babe.

Read The Sign

So, yesterday I cycled down to Sorrrento, with a few thousand others.  Upon my arrival I was greeted by this sign.  So I did.  Nice day, but windy, one puncture and lots of ladies on bikes this year.  Another Around the Bay done.  Do I need to do it again?

I had a good day

Received a gold star today.  I remembered my speech therapist and did "good work". Rehabilitation is like a long slow climb on the bike.

A Big Day out

CJ took me to Mason House Medical Clinic today for my last day there.  It will close in 2 weeks and a new and bigger clinic will open closer to the hospital.  We've worked here for the past 15 years.  CJ noticed I was a bit upset as I recognised I felt funny about the place.  "It felt different".  I have not worked apparently for the past 12 months, but in my head I still feel that I'm a doctor, sometimes on call.
Anyway I had a nice lunch at Wild Honey, visited Push n Pedal and then back to the lodge.  I needed a good lie down.

From a Buddy

Hey Rohan, your package for the Babe arrived safe and sound.  The CD is brilliant!  Love it
Thanks  CJ

Must be Wednesday

Ride in the morning and dance at night.  Wonder who'll turn up to lessons tonight?

Sometimes I thought the roads were bad enough around here.  Our rates at work!

Caffeine is Legal

If I can't get to Brunetti, then Brunetti comes to me.

The Babe

It's not a Pinarello

Apparently, custom built just for me!  It's not pink and black, nor made of carbon fibre and it has 2 more wheels, yet it costs the same as my FP3 did.

Home at Last!

CJ walked me home today for a very nice lunch.  The new front ramp is silky smooth.  I stayed for 4 hours and then had to go back to the Lodge.  An hour later I forgot all about it.  Oh, well.

The Babe

A year on

The long ride today, included the scene of the "accident".  It was  8 AM mild, sunny and the wind was from the east - just like last year.  Only one car passed while I remembered...  And we all ask how and why this happened?

It's a long ride today

The pre ride ritual

Welcome to our site

So exactly after one whole year, I thought it best to begin the blog that I long thought I should have done, soon after The Babe's "accident" last year. I know some of our friends wondered if I was going to start and I do know that what will be posted from now on, will let everyone know a lot sooner what is happening to us and especially Heather.  The next twelve months will be the hardest in many ways.

The blog, I'm sure, will evolve as I update and get used to the process.  It will be fun and I hope everyone will enjoy the curious mix of dancing, music, cycling and living life to its full.  Explore the site and visit often as I add new stuff.

Finally, so many thanks to our colleagues, family and friends of the rock and roll community Australia wide and the Sale cycling community.  For all your support and hope and prayers for The Babe, I thank you.  And my personal thanks also to Jimmy, Merilyn and Fred, Glenn, Scott, Michelle and Ian, Andrew L, Samantha,  Kevin and Carol, Jill and Andrew M, Darren, Janet, the influential Malachi and the crew at Mason House who have all helped during my darkest days.
